This is our second Gliderpalooza II mission. Deployed out of Jordan Bay, the glider will measure environmental and biological variables in Roseway Basin (a critical habitat for Right Whales). The exact mission waypoints will likely be modified as we determine the most likely position of the Right Whales. This mission is happening in conjunction with a deployment of we10, a Slocum glider from Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute equipped with a DMON (a passive accoustic monitoring device). The DMON's purpose is to identify whale calls nearby. Also, this is the first mission with our new Imagenex echo sounder, and we will be sending low resolution (every 12.5 meters) in realtime and getting high res (every 0.5 meters) data once the glider has been recovered.

The waypoints were be adjusted to go over the AMAR buoys a few times. Also the behavior to surface at every waypoint was stoped. This was done by replacing surfac04.ma (wpt surfacing) with surfac05.ma (surface for science) renamed as surfac04.ma

At 6:20 pm local time, I changed the minimum depth the altimeter (u_alt_min_depth) starts from 5 meters to 15 meters. I did this because we were getting lots of short yo's, and hopefully this will help.

I updated the waypoints so that otn201 and the WHOI glider should meet up at a waypoint.

I updated the waypoints so that it heads to shore to be recovered tomorrow. I also set the minimum altimeter depth to 5 meters (it was 15 before) so that it could safely navigate through shallower waters.
